Inside My Makeup Bag - A Weekend Away

Where does the time go? I swear it feels like I last blogged only a couple of weeks ago but it has actually been well over two months! I love to blog but lately I just cannot find the time. I have had a LOT going on with my family which means I struggle to find some 'me time' to be able to write and photograph. I also got a puppy in March and he is keeping me extra busy!

Last weekend the family and I went to Melbourne for a couple of nights. My Nanna had some tests at St Vincent's and it had just been my 25th birthday so I wanted to do some shopping at Chadstone (duh!). I thought I would give you a peek into the makeup I packed. I pack products that are current favourites - ones I know won't let me down.

To start with I packed my recently acquired primer - Becca Backlight Priming Filter. This had been on my wishlist for ages and I finally picked it up when the Becca website had 20% off at Easter. For foundation I have been absolutely loving one I picked up in my last haul, the Lancome Miracle Cushion Foundation. I love the finish of this and it is so nice on my drier skin. For concealer, I just grabbed the Dior Diorskin Star Concealer. It's not the best concealer but it does an okay job. Powder wise I packed my favourite pressed powder the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. I love how this sets my makeup but isn't too matte or drying on my skin. I packed a simple pink blush, the Too Faced Love Flush in Justify My Love.

For eyes, I didn't pack much (and in hindsight, I should have packed even less). The Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in 187 Brun Chatain is the only eyeshadow I packed. I also threw in the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in 916 Perle De Lune which is a favourite for a soft smokey eye. The Max Factor Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara is my current open one, so that is what I packed. It's a fine mascara, not my fave nor do I hate it.

I had a brow wax at Benefit whilst at Chadstone so I didn't need much for my brows - they were pretty out of control. The Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel in clear came with me to try and tame my then caterpillars. I also packed my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, incase my brow wax didn't go well (it went fantastic).

I only packed two lip products which is about six less than I normally do. With the change in seasons, my lips have been really dry again so I have been keeping the lipstick to the minimal. The Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Hot Berry is an absolute fave of mine, the colour is gorgeous, it is long lasting but doesn't dry out my lips too much. The Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo in 202 Conte was the most worn of my trip. The colour is quite subtle and really comfortable to wear.

For brushes I packed a couple of eye brushes and a set from Chanel that they release for the holiday season. All this was safely housed in my favourite makeup bag from Charlotte Tilbury.

Woo! Finally a new post from me. I won't make promises to write more often, but I will try (I've missed it). I have another haul post if anyone is interested?

How much makeup do you pack when you travel?
