I have been using make up for many years but only recently have realised the importance of good brushes. I have been watching many YouTube bloggers and they all tell you that the tools you use to apply your make up is just as important as the make up.
I have always found it hard to pay out for brushes. Up until now I have only purchased a couple of brushes and never paid much for them. Much of brush collection was made up of GWP brushes. That has all changed now though!
I decided to purchase brushes from both Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman (from Pixiwoo) and Sigma Beauty. From Real Techniques I purchased the Core Collection for the face and the Starter Set for the eyes. From Sigma I purchased the Make Me Blush 12 piece brush kit in Coral.
I ordered the Real Techniques from Beauty Chamber based in the UK, postage was £9.99 (AU$15.55) and took around a week and a half. I ordered the Sigma brushes from their website Sigma Beauty based in the US. I paid for the Express Postage and it cost around US$47.50 (AU$46.00) and arrived in about a week and a half.

The Sigma Make Me Blush set contains twelve brushes, five are for the face and seven are for the eyes. This set retails for US$109 but I found a coupon code for 10% off so I paid AU$95.50. The set comes in a holder that also converts into two cups to hold the brushes.

I haven't used any of my new brushes yet, I am working up the courage to change them from pristine condition. I will use them soon though. Once I have given them some good use I will post reviews on what I think about them.
I thought I would also include a photo of how I am storing my brushes. I just picked up two cheap vases from the Reject Shop and some decorative stones. I love all the pretty colours of the brushes :) I am a little worried they will get dusty though.

Goodness, so many gorgeous brushes! Eeek, the postage for express delivery from Sigma stings a little, but at least they arrived safe and sound in a relatively short period of time. I have the RT Core Collection and I really love it, especially the Buffing Brush. Hope you start to use and enjoy these brushes!

DeleteI have started using all of the brushes and I am really loving the RT Buffing Brush too, its excellent to get that polished look for foundation. :)
What do you think about the quality of the Real Techniques brushes? I am considering buying some since quite a few of my Sigma brushes are now broken after almost a year of using them :( I got the same kit as yours from Sigma (but in blue) and the larger brushes are all shedding hair like crazy and one of them has fallen off the handle :(:( I hope yours turn out better than mine.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty impressed with the Real Techniques brushes - so much so I am planning on buying the other ones available soon. I really love the buffing, contour and the eye brushes. Sad to hear about the Sigma brushes - I hope mine last, I considered them an investment when I purchased them. :)
